In partnership with Temple ISD, the Temple Public Library will be open for breakfast and lunch Monday through Friday for children 0 – 18. Parents may purchase plates to eat.
This year, you can track your Summer Reading Progress through the Beanstack Program.
Paper reading logs are will be available at the Youth and Adult Service Desks starting June 1 OR download your own using the links on the left navigation pane under Summer Reading Documents.

Summer Reading Kick-Off Party
Join us from 1 to 3PM on June 1 as we kick off our 2024 Summer Reading Program with scavenger hunts, a bounce house, Kiddo Cards from Temple PD, oversized games, and giveaways! While you are here, be sure to sign up for this year’s Summer Reading program for your chance to win fantastic prizes! All ages welcome!

AdultsFor every book you read, earn a badge and an entry into the grand prize drawing. After reading five books, pick up a prize book. After you finished 10 books, pick up a bookish swag bag. After you finish 15 books, you can get a Summer Reading themed t-shirt!
REMEMBERThis is for fun! Read what you like, choose topics you are interested in, and always feel free to stop reading a book you do not enjoy. Just remember to pick up a new one to replace it!
The Family Summer Passport Program is a chance for families to explore and visit participating local museums and libraries. This program offers families the opportunity to participate in affordable, family-friendly fun throughout Bell County. The goal of the Family Summer Passport Program is to showcase these great attractions and highlight the experiences you can have at each location.

Passports are available at participating libraries and museums and can be found on their websites. Stamps should be collected for each participating location in the passport for the passport to be marked as completed. Children,
ages 3-12, are eligible to receive a stamp for each library or museum visited during Summer 2024, from
May 31 to August 31, and can redeem the completed passport by October 31, 2024, for reward at the following vendors:

Baby Bookworms
Join us for a lap-sit story time to introduce the sounds and rhythms of language, develop motor skills, and support early learning. Story Time is followed by a brief playtime with toys and socialization for caregivers and babies. Baby Bookworms is best for pre-walkers who are not yet highly mobile.
